How can Provider One help me to become a NDIS Registered Provider?

What Certification Packs do you offer?

All Certification Packs is available in two different options - dependent upon your needs:

Do-it-Yourself Packs

Do-it-Yourself Packs are perfect if you are looking for a simple and budget-friendly way to start a NDIS business and are happy to complete the NDIS application and start the audit process by yourself. Do-it-Yourself Packs are designed as an immediate download upon purchase. All documents have been created using Microsoft Word to ensure ease of the customisation process.

Once you have customised your documents, you will need to complete your online application to the NDIS via the PRODA portal. Upon completion of your application, an Initial Scope of Audit document will be sent to your email which you will need to forward to your chosen NDIS approved auditor in order to receive a quote for your audit and start the registration process.  It is during this registration process that you will be asked to provide all documents included within this pack to ensure you meet the requirements of the NDIS.

Done-for-You Packs

Done-for-You Packs are ideal if you would prefer to have everything up to the start of your audit completed on your behalf. Upon purchase, you will be sent a Welcome Pack which will include a form that you will need to complete and return to us.  Following this, your pack will be sent to you within five business days completely customised with your business logo and details. As part of this option, we will complete key components of your NDIS application, including the self-assessment component, and liaise with auditing companies on your behalf to ensure you get the best deal available.

What is involved in the Certification Audit?

A certification audit is for all providers delivering higher risk, more complex supports, and services. If you deliver a range of services and just one of them falls into a high-risk registration group, you will need to undergo a certification audit.

Certification audits are completed in two stages:

Stage 1 - is an off-site desktop audit which consists of a NDIS approved quality auditor conducting a review of the documentary evidence you provide.

Stage 2 - is an on-site audit where generally a team of two NDIS approved quality auditors will visit your office and service delivery sites to examine your business’ implementation of and compliance with the NDIS practice standards.

Note:

  • It is important to note that you can only select from an approved NDIS quality auditor listed upon the NDIS website – NDIS list of approved auditors.
  • Due to auditing companies not being directly affiliated with the NDIS, it is important to make sure that you get a few quotes from different companies as pricing will vary.
  • Once you have submitted your application you will not be able to make any changes to the information provided.
  • The quote(s) provided by an approved quality auditor will be based on the information which you provide.
  • Although there is no cost to apply to be a registered NDIS provider, you will face the cost of the audit.
  • This cost is exponential according to the type of services you offer (i.e. If you offer 'high risk' services like behaviour support, you will need to undergo a certification audit which is more expensive than the verification audit (desktop audit) that would apply to a gardening service.)

What if I need help throughout the Certification Audit, such as additional documentation?

Not to worry – Provider One has you covered!  We provide ongoing support throughout your Certification audit to make sure you have everything you need including any additional documentation requirements.

I have now completed the Certification Audit…. now what?

Once the NDIS approved quality auditor has completed their audit of your business, they will submit their findings to the NDIS commission who will:

  • Consider the audit outcomes; and
  • Conduct a suitability assessment of your organisation and key personnel.

The NDIS commission will then decide and contact you to let you know if your application has been successful.

In the meantime, you can continue to build you business and provide supports to both self-managed and plan-managed participants, however you will just need to wait to receive your registration prior to delivering support to agency-managed participants.
